Putting the planet first
We’re working towards a greener future, and inspiring our suppliers and customers to do the same. It’s a principle driven by our board, our people and our customers, and has led to a range of environmental commitments based on continuous improvement.
Our commitments:
- Promote renewable solutions to our customers
- Since 2024, we have published annual carbon footprint reports, we also have a Carbon Reduction plan in place which is regularly reviewed and updated with continuous improvement activities to meet our objectives
- Working with our suppliers by asking them to complete our Online Risk Assessment, which includes a section on environmental management (for example, having an effective Environmental Management System and carbon reporting)
- Mandatory Green Thinking training course for all colleagues
- We have a registered ISO 14001 environmental management in place, independently assessed by an accredited third party

What we’re doing about waste, packaging and recycling
We’re committed to reducing waste, improving our environmental performance and increasing recycling rates across our businesses. We identify and implement ways to reduce the environmental impact of our business operations and create more sustainable ways to conserve energy, save money and eliminate waste where possible.
We lead by example by ensuring plastic packaging on our exclusive brand products contains at least 30% recycled material and is fully recyclable wherever possible - and encouraging our suppliers to do the same. We also operate in-branch recycling programmes for cardboard and plastic packaging and comply with all relevant Waste Regulations.
